A modern school for families who learn beyond the classroom

Olive International Schools in Nairobi teaches the Cambridge and Pearson Edexcel programmes and prepares KCSE private candidates, with a commitment to a quality, affordable and holistic education.

Why Olive exists

More families in Kenya are choosing to homeschool. They should not have to do it alone.

Some families travel. Some children train seriously in a sport. Some simply learn better at their own pace. Homeschooling makes all of that possible, but it can leave parents carrying everything: planning, teaching, marking and working out the exams.

Olive brings the structure of a school to those families. Our students follow the Cambridge International or Pearson Edexcel curriculum with experienced teachers, a personal study plan and regular feedback, and we guide each family through to the exams.

We keep our fees affordable, because a good education should be within reach of more families.

Our mission

A quality, affordable and holistic education that prepares every learner for university and for life.

Our motto

Your future. Our commitment.

Every plan we make starts with where your child wants to go next.

Our curriculum

Cambridge International and Pearson Edexcel, from IGCSE to AS and A Level.

Qualifications recognised by universities around the world.

How we teach

Experienced teachers, and a plan for every learner

Students study each subject with an experienced teacher who sets work, marks it and explains what to do next. Between lessons they study independently, using their study plan, with help available when they need it.

Parents receive regular updates, so there are no surprises at the end of a term or on results day.

Learning at Olive

Three commitments

They are in our description of ourselves, and we try to earn them every day.

Quality

A demanding international curriculum, taught by people who know their subjects and care about their students.

Affordability

Fees kept within reach on purpose, so families do not have to choose between quality and cost.

A holistic education

Grades matter, and so do confidence, curiosity and character. We look after the whole learner.

Our crest

Everything on it means something

Each part of the Olive crest stands for part of the education we offer.

The Olive International Schools crest: a crowned shield quartered by a gold cross, holding a quill, an open book, a graduation cap and an atom, framed by olive branches above a ribbon.

The crown

High standards in everything we do.

The quill

Expression: writing, reading and languages.

The graduation cap

Achievement, and qualifications recognised worldwide.

The open book

Knowledge, and a lifelong habit of reading.

The atom

Inquiry: science, mathematics and good questions.

The olive branches

Wisdom, peace and steady growth.
